Hello,　I’m　Shannan　from　California,　USA.

It　has　been　my　privilege　to　teach　in　China　since　August　2005.　In　this　time,　I　have　seen　many　places　and　met　many　students　of　all　ages.　For　the　past　three　years　my　focus　has　been　n　middle-school　students　that　wish　to　study　overseas.　It　is　my　pleasure　to　share　the　many　cultural　differences　and　impart　the　particular　study　skills　necessary　for　success　in　western　universities.

My　teaching　philosophy　is　to　impart　not　only　knowledge　but　to　share　the　passion　and　skill　to　discover　knowledge　and　develop　one’s　self.　The　students　will　learn　the　skills　necessary　to　become　independent　and　self-directed　learners.　It　is　my　hope　that　they　enjoy　learning　and　discovering　new　things.

2005年8月以来,很荣幸的我一直在中国执教。在执教期间，我去过很多地方，并且认识了不同年龄段的学生。在过去的三年，我的教学对象主要是想出国留学的中学生。我很高兴能够与学生们一起分享，交流文化差异，教授他们一些西方国家的大学里成功的必要学习技能。

我的教学理念是教书并不是简单的知识传授，而是要与学生分享对探索新知的热情和技能以及完善自我的过程。　学生学习技能是为了成为独立的个体，成为一个自我导向的学习者。我希望他们能从学习和发现新事物找到快乐。
